AMONtario’s Climate Change & Asset Management Committee is advancing the integration of climate change and asset management planning across Ontario’s public sector. Our members include representatives from the university sector, Infrastructure Ontario, conservation areas and municipal towns and cities across Ontario.

CATHERINE SIMPSON

BLAIR FELTMATE

University of Waterloo

Dr. Blair Feltmate: Blair is the Head of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation, University of Waterloo. Previous positions he has held include Vice President, Sustainable Development, Bank of Montreal; Director, Sustainable Development, Ontario Power Generation; Partner, Sustainable Investment Group/YMG Capital Management. Blair has written textbooks on Sustainable Banking and Aquatic Ecology.

CHRISTINE ZIMMER

Lead author of Chapter titled “Lessons Learned from Implementing Low Impact Development in the Credit River Watershed”currently in press as Great Lakes Great Responsibilities. Editors G. City of Markham

Graham designs and implements leading asset management, project management and sustainability strategies, programs, projects and policies that support the objectives of all stakeholders.

CHRISTINE TU

Region of Peel

Christine’s passion and expertise in addressing the imperative of climate change emerged through her career as a research scientist in the field of aquatic ecology. She received her undergraduate and M.Sc. degrees in environmental science from the University of Toronto. Christine has over 18 years of experience evaluating the complex relationships between land use, sustainability and integrating the realities of climate change impacts in highly urban watersheds.

DHARMEN DHALIAH

Town of Halton Hills

Dharmen Dhaliah works for the Town of Halton Hills as Corporate Asset Manager. He has over twenty-eight years experience in the private and public sectors holding positions in physical asset management, maintenance management, reliability engineering, and project management across a range of industries. Dharmen holds an MBA and is a Professional Mechanical Engineer, Certified Asset Management Assessor, Project Management Professional, Maintenance Management Professional, and Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional.

DAVID MACLEOD

City of Toronto

A dedicated, practically oriented environmental risk management professional with wide multi-sectoral experience in the municipal and private sector context. Focus since 2007 has been on strategic implications of physical risks associated with climate change impacting infrastructure systems and vulnerable populations.

Alice is Infrastructure Ontario’s Climate Resilience Manager and climate resilience program lead, working to improve the energy performance and resiliency of Provincial infrastructure and real estate assets.

Experienced Principal Advisor with a demonstrated history of working in the public policy research and development; and program design and implementation. Mike Hausser

MIKE HAUSSER

Mike Hausser is a Professional Engineer with over 24 years of municipal experience in both private and public sector. He has a unique blend of engineering / technology / business experience gained by working closely with a wide variety of municipal services in efforts to continuously improve the transparency, effectiveness, and efficiency of public services.

DARYUSH ESMAILI

Daryush Esmaili is the City of Guelph’s Manager of Corporate Asset and Project Management. His expertise includes maximizing value in services such as utilities, transportation, facilities, parks, and fleet. Mr. Esmaili has a Master’s degree specializing in Asset Management, and actively contributes to the international industry through committees including the ISO Technical Committee 251 for Asset.

JASON WINTER

Jason is the current Director, Asset Management for the City of Kitchener. Jason has overall accountability for developing plans for the optimized management of the City’s 12 asset categories. Jason’s data-driven approach provides enabling support leveraging technology and consistent processes balancing service expectations and risk management.

KHALED SHAHATA

Khaled is Manager of Corporate Asset Management at the City of London, Ontario. Khaled is a professional engineer with a PhD in Construction Management, continually contributing to the asset management and engineering profession through strategy development, publications and teaching.

JOHAN KRIJNEN

Johan Krijnen is currently Manager Asset Management at the City of Cambridge. Johan holds an engineering degree from The Netherlands, and received his P.Eng. and PMP in Canada. His international career included diverse positions in private as well as public sector in The Netherlands, Singapore, and Canada. He is keenly interested in continuously improving every facet of the asset management system.

Asset Management Ontario is a community of practice comprised of asset management practitioners who share information and best practices to advance public sector asset management and stewardship of publicly-owned infrastructure in Ontario.
