FCM seeking Municipal Partners!!

Building Inclusive Green Municipalities is a five year, $5.8M initiative. Funding includes a $4.9M contribution from Global Affairs Canada as well as in-kind contributions from Canadian and South African municipalities.

Building Inclusive Green Municipalities’ focus:

  • Improve the capacity of South African municipal governments to support effective service delivery, inclusive local green economic growth and enhanced climate change mitigation and adaptation measures.
  • Empower women, youth and vulnerable groups, and ensure their inclusion in the political, economic and social life of their community.
  • Reduce poverty and improve climate change mitigation in targeted municipalities of the Eastern Cape Province.

I’m please to announce that Sam Sidawi from City of Hamilton is our new Vice-Chair.

Over the next two years, we will be focusing on engaging municipalities and organizations across Ontario, implementation-specific workshops & training, and digging deeper through task-specific working groups covering areas such as best practice & knowledge sharing, data and decision support systems/tools, province-wide benchmarking, and confidential peer-review feedback.

AGM & Workshop Update!

We are just under a week away from the workshops and the event is shaping up to be an exciting opportunity for learning, networking and collaboration.

Registration currently includes over 80 asset management professionals from 32 municipalities including cities, regions, towns, counties and township in addition to multiple industry, academic and Provincial partners!

Registration is open until June 6th and will be available on site at the workshop.

Annual General Meeting & AM Workshop Registration Open!

We have recently opened registration for the one day Asset Management Ontario Annual General Meeting & Asset Management Workshops.

This event will include a number of hands on workshops and seminars lead by experienced members of the industry focused on:

  • Asset Management Policies – samples of real working policies and how to write them
  • Governance – how do pull together different priorities and get your organization on board
  • Linking your asset management needs to financial planning

This will be an opportunity to explore these topics with similar organizations, share experiences and move forward collaboratively.
